The Islamic Institute of Accounting and Finance of Nigeria [IIAFNIGERIA] is registered body, set up under license of the Federal Government of Nigeria granted by Registrar of Corporate Affairs Commission and is functioning in Nigeria in regional and international level.

IIAFNIGERIA was established in 2010 as the first recognized professional Islamic body providing the education and training in Islamic Accounting and Finance, Forensic Accounting and Auditing, Corporate Government and its allied areas.

In view of the increasing demand for a lower cadre qualification in Islamic finance to cater for junior level entry requirements of Islamic Financial Institutions, IIAFNIGERIA Board of Experts considered offering a Diploma level qualification by establishing ISLAMIC FINANCE COLLEGE, hence the need to approach Kwara State Ministry of Tertiary Education and Science and Technology for approval which was approved in 2016.

By this approval to operate, IFC will be approaching the National Board for Technical Education in nearest future for full Accreditation.

To address this issue, the IFC Curriculum Development and Evaluation Division cooperated with the relevant Authorities to develop the Curriculum and thus introduce the Diploma qualifications. This programme gives the students a lot of opportunities to acquire the needed knowledge as well as to undergo industrial training during their 4TH MODULE in order to be exposed to the real working world particularly in Islamic Financial Institutions. This will give the students the knowledge and skills that are relevant to the needs of the Islamic finance industry.

Upon completion of the diploma you can choose to progress your studies by either
1. Continuing on to complete the IFC Professional Advanced Diploma in Islamic Finance or
2. Transferring onto the operational level of the IIAFNIGERIA professional qualifications or
3. Progress to any accredited universities in Nigeria or foreign universities offering Islamic Finance at advanced starting entry point.


The knowledge and skills that the students acquire from this programme will enable them to venture in the job market such as;
Assistant Bank Officer [at local and International level], Stock Broker, Zakat centre Administrator, Underwriter, Takaful Agent, Financial Consultant, Assistant Administrative Executive, Unit Trust Executive, Marketing Executive, Assistant Account Executive, Entrepreneur, Financial Planner

Distinction – GPA of 4.50 and above
Upper Credit- GPA of 3.50 – 4.49
Lower Credit- GPA of 2.50- 3.49
Pass - GPA of 2.00-2.49
Fail - GPA of below 2.00


• Five credits in the SSCE/ GCE/ NABTEB, NECO or equivalents at not more than two (2) sittings obtained in subject relevant to the proposed field(s) of study.
• Teacher s Grade 11certificates with a minimum of five merits or its combination with any of the certificate listed under to obtain equivalent of five credits at O level.


Voluntary Withdrawal
Students may withdraw from the college at any time on completion of the official withdrawal forms obtainable from the office of the Registrar. Such student may retain grades in the course taken prior to the date of withdrawal. Student who withdraws voluntarily from the college, may, in order to be re-admitted, reapply to the Registrar who shall forward such application to the Academic board for reconsideration.

Unauthorized withdrawal
A student who cannot be traced by attendance of class, assignments, practical work and examinations for a semester shall be deemed to have absconded from the College, and would be regarded as having withdrawn from the College without the authority.

Withdrawal for Academic Reasons A student who is asked to withdraw on the ground of poor performance shall do so at the end of the academic year and shall not be considered for readmission until the expiration of one academic year from the date of withdrawal.

Withdrawn on Health Reasons A student may withdraw or may be asked to withdraw for health reasons, certified by an approved medical Officer.

Disciplinary withdrawal A student who, as a disciplinary measure is asked to withdraw shall never be readmitted into the College.

Time Limit for Re admission
A student who withdraws from the college for any reason other than disciplinary measure, and who is not re admitted within a period of two consecutive years from the date of his/her withdrawal, shall not be credited with any courses taken prior to withdrawal, should he/she return to the College.

If the student returns to the College before the expiration of one year , all the grades him/her. If, however, he/she returns after the expiration of one year, but before the expiration of two years, the Head of Department, subject to the approval of Academic Board, shall make a general assessment of the students performance in the courses takes prior to withdrawal and recommend those courses that can be credited to him/her.

Probation is a status granted to a student whose academic performance falls below an acceptable standard. A student, whose cumulative Grade point Average is below 1.00 at the end of a particular year of study, earns a period of probation for one academic session.

Withdrawal A candidate whose cumulative Grade point is average is below 1.00 at the end of particular period of probation should be required to withdraw from the College.

PRACTICAL TRAINING (12 HOURs CREDIT COURSE) With the approval of the Department, the Students MUST, choose to go to relevant organizations for practical training for a period of 32weeks. A written report on the practical training must be submitted to the Department within two weeks after the completion of practical training. Assessment of the practical training will be on a PASS/FAIL basis only.


Your first year will give you a good grounding in accounting, finance, management, marketing and Islamic finance foundations. This is an introductory year which will help you to make informed choice about your option choices in later years. You will study 85 credits in total.

You now enter a development year, assessing your progress and making initial decisions about your future.YOU WILL STUDY 60 CREDITS IN TOTAL
